Myth III Unofficial v1.1 Patch Released
Posted by Chris "Pie4Foo" Abele @ 16:18

An amateur group known as the MythDevelopers have completed over year's worth of work on an unofficial v1.1 patch for the Myth III title. The game, which was originally released in October 2001, was not patched by Take Two and Bungie despite some issues with the original game. This new patch, which was begun after it became apparent Bungie/Take 2 would not be releasing an official patch makes over 40 different gameplay fixes and tweaks and redistributes a pair of officially released maps. The patch is compatible with the existing online Myth III service, PlayMyth, so users with old copies of the game should still be able to enjoy the new patch in multiplayer.

In addition to the new patch, an updated multiplayer demo has been released by the group. This downloadable demo is also unofficial, but gives players interested in the new work a great chance to check out the improvements. The download is available here but is a significant 113 MB download.

For more on the Myth III game, visit our microsite. The patch can be downloaded from this web site.

New patch: Myth III
Posted by Steve "Spike" Wyatt @ 11:10

Oh my goodness, lordy me! Our very own Pie4Foo spotted this one (thank'ee!) today, so I popped over to find out some details. Suffice it to say that there are so many fixes in this patch, I'd feel somewhat daft reproducing them all here. Instead, I shall give you the URL to the ReadMe file and let you sit back with some popcorn and take in all that detail...

The file itself weighs in at some 5.4Mb and is downloadable at FilePlanet.
